“You have to know the past to understand the present.”

Carl Sagan

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my approach is primarily psychodynamic.

Often, our greatest fears revolve around re-experiencing the most painful moments in our lives whether we realize it or not.

Together, we’ll seek to identify these unconscious fears and manage the sometimes overwhelming emotions associated with understanding them. Next, we’ll work to understand and see yourself as others do in order to identify blind spots that may be causing you pain. And finally, we’ll begin to strategize new behaviors to relieve depression, anxiety, and improve the quality of your relationships — with yourself and with others.

For my work with couples, I blend psychodynamic techniques with the PACT approach — a fusion of attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation — all firmly grounded in a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.

In addition to the above, I integrate therapeutic tools from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help reframe negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors and, if necessary, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address intense mood swings, impulsive behaviors, and instability in relationships.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging and I want to support you in that process—if you’re curious about what working together, please reach out.
